GET TO KNOW GORDON

Gordon Gooding, LCSW-R
Director/Founder
Long Island Teletherapy was founded by Gordon Gooding, LCSW, in response to the growing need for accessible, affordable, and high-quality therapy on Long Island. As a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, Gordon has dedicated his career to supporting the emotional wellness of individuals and families. He is also the founder of a well-established in-person group practice on Long Island, where a team of highly trained clinicians provides counseling services to the local community.

Today, more than ever, prioritizing mental and emotional health is essential. While in-person counseling offers meaningful connection and support, many people face busy schedules, transportation challenges, or limited access to a qualified therapist on Long Island. At the same time, finding a trusted Long Island therapist who fits your needs can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Our mission is to make therapy on Long Island more accessible by offering both secure teletherapy and in-person counseling options. We help match individuals, couples, and families with experienced, licensed clinicians who understand the unique needs of the Long Island community. Whether you prefer meeting face-to-face in a comfortable office or connecting from the privacy of your home or workplace, our goal is to reduce barriers and make it easier to start therapy.

Online therapy can save time, reduce travel, and offer flexible scheduling, while in-person sessions provide a dedicated space for reflection and growth. Many clients choose a combination of both. No matter the format, you receive the same compassionate, ethical, and professional care from a Long Island therapist who is committed to your well-being.

Our clinicians live and work on Long Island and specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and addiction. We believe quality therapy should feel personal, supportive, and tailored to you.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult. You may wonder where to start or whether your concerns are “big enough.” The truth is, you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Therapy offers a space to be heard, understood, and supported.

If you’ve been considering therapy on Long Island, this may be the right time to reach out. Support is available, and meaningful change is possible with the right guidance and connection.
Asking for help, and being vulnerable, is scary and uncertain but that is where all the growth and change takes place”
